Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Bridging the Gap ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. This happens when you:

  • Send us a message through the Contact form: your name, email address, organization (if any), the topic you choose, and your message.
  • Request a training through the Training Request form: your organization's name and type, your name, email address, and phone number, who the training is for, the estimated number of participants, the topic, preferred format, dates and location, any language or accessibility needs, a budget range, and your goals.
  • Ask to get involved through the Get Involved form: your name, email address, phone number, community or languages you speak, availability, the ways you are interested in helping, and anything you tell us about why.
  • Sign up for community updates: your email address.
  • Email or call us directly: whatever you choose to share with us.

Please do not send medical, mental health, immigration, financial, or other sensitive personal information through our website forms. If you need to share sensitive information, contact us first and we will talk about a safer way to do it.

When you visit the site, our website host may also collect basic technical information, such as your browser type, device, and the pages you visit.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • respond to your questions and requests;
  • connect you with our programs, events, training, or partnership opportunities;
  • follow up about volunteering and other ways to get involved;
  • send community updates, if you signed up for them; and
  • keep records of our programs as required by our funders and by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share your information only when needed to run our work:

  • Service providers that help us operate the website and communicate with you. Our website is hosted by Webflow, which stores form submissions on our behalf. If you sign up for community updates, we use an email service provider to send them.
  • Funders and partners, only as required by a funding agreement, and in summary form wherever possible.
  • When the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal request.

Cookies

Our website uses only the cookies needed for the site to work. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Parents and guardians may contact us on behalf of their children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep information

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as a funder or the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information you have given us. You can unsubscribe from community updates at any time using the link in any update email, or by contacting us.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us online.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new date.
